Are you a medical or dental student who is planning an elective project abroad and are in need of funding?
The BMDST-RSM Advisory Board are awarding elective funding, usually between £500 to £1000, to successful applicants who want to undertake a specific project on their medical elective.
The BMDST-RSM Student Elective Awards are open to medical and dental students of UK and other EU medical and dental schools.
We’re looking for well-presented applications, outlining an elective attachment that is based on or includes an element of research (for example, basic research, clinical research or quality improvement, etc.). Often, the projects are small, designed by and for the student but they may also be participation in a larger ongoing research project.
Simple clinical attachments/observations are unlikely to be successful.
The application form will ask you to include a proposal of no more than 700 words, which should include the following:

All successful applicants are required to submit a report of their elective project within 30 days of their return.
The RSM accepts no responsibility for the elective itself, or the work associated with it. By confirming your elective and providing a recommendation, your elective supervisor assumes responsibility.
