Register to join Episode 96 'Sir Jeremy Farrar' on Zoom here.

From the very start of the pandemic, Wellcome Trust Director and infectious disease researcher Sir Jeremy Farrar was a key voice on SAGE, before choosing to leave the group in October 2021.

Sir Jeremy is now focusing on the Wellcome’s work supporting the international research effort to end the pandemic, and planning for the inevitable infectious disease threats of the future.

The former Professor of Tropical Medicine at Oxford University has recently spoken about the UK’s need to prepare for Covid-19 moving from pandemic to endemic, the role of next generation vaccines, and the importance of global vaccine access in reducing the risk of new variants after Omicron.

In this episode of the COVID-19 Series we welcome Sir Jeremy to discuss these issues, as well as the current picture in the UK and around the world, and his time on SAGE.

Sir Jeremy Farrar will be interviewed by Dr Joanne Liu, Professor of Clinical Medicine at McGill University, Montreal and the previous International President of Médecins sans Frontières.

We encourage audiences to please submit questions in advance of the episode through the zoom registration process.
