Cardiovascular (CV) medicine is a rapidly evolving discipline. Research studies and clinical trials are continually expanding the evidence base related to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with cardiovascular disease. In addition, new technologies, new drugs, and new devices are expanding the therapeutic choices available to practitioners.
This meeting, jointly organised by the Royal Society of Medicine and Cleveland Clinic London, will give cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, general practitioners, nurses, and nurse practitioners an in-depth review of cardiovascular medicine and surgery and has the potential for making positive effects on clinical practices and patient outcomes.
Critically assess the often conflicting recommendations for lipid management, the underlying evidence, and the implications for clinical practice.
Apply findings from diagnostic imaging to plan treatment and guide intervention in the setting of CAD
Incorporate the evidence on contemporary surgical and percutaneous treatment options into clinical decision-making for patients with valvular disease.
Review the latest techniques in open and endovascular management of aortic disease
Integrate contemporary concepts in cardiovascular pathophysiology with evidence-based strategies in the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of patients with heart failure
Appropriately integrate the emerging evidence and options for prevention, detection, risk assessment, rhythm and rate management, and stroke prevention into the care of patients with atrial fibrillation.
This conference will run in parallel with a nursing conference, emphasising the value of teamwork in the care setting and providing you with an interprofessional networking opportunity to share best practices and lessons learned in cardiac specialties.
