The Hypnosis & Psychosomatic Medicine invites you to join their annual lecture to remember David Waxman, a founding member of the Section. 

The aim of this half day meeting is to consider recent advances in our understanding of hypnosis and suggestion with the wider aim of promoting understanding of the efficacy of hypnosis and suggestion in a variety of contexts.


  • Discuss recent findings in hypnosis research
  • Know how hypnosis and placebo effects relate to each other
  • Know the similarities and differences between hetero- and self-hypnosis
