Joining the RSM as an Overseas Fellow

By becoming an Overseas Fellow of the RSM, we will provide you with access to a useful range of online resources and membership benefits to help support throughout your medical career, plus you will become a valued part of our network of medical students, trainees, consultants and senior medical professionals.

The annual cost of Overseas Fellowship is £286 and is open to those who hold a UK recognised medical, dental or veterinary qualification and are resident outside the UK, and there is a £85 joining fee when you first apply.

Global reciprocal club network


The RSM has negotiated reciprocal club arrangements with a number of overseas clubs for members when travelling overseas. Including clubs in:

The RSM runs one of the most extensive programmes of educational conferences in the UK – nearly all with CPD accreditation:

  • over 400 meetings each year
  • spanning 56 medical specialties and areas of interest

Home to one of the largest medical libraries in the world:

  • open 24 hours a day, seven days a week
  • 600,000 volumes and 12,000 journals
  • private study rooms and free printing and photocopying
  • expert library team for high quality literature searches and free training courses covering database searching and accessing online resources (CPD accredited).

price and eligibility

The price of Overseas Fellowship is £286 and open to those who hold a UK recognised medical, dental or veterinary qualification, or a higher scientific qualification in a healthcare related field, and are a resident outside the UK (not including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man). Fellows residing in the Republic of Ireland can apply as an Overseas Fellow. 

VAT on some elements* of RSM membership subscription rates is applicable for EU countries outside the UK. Please contact to find out the appropriate rate for your membership subscription if living in the EU as rates vary by country.
