Purpose:

To promote and provide accredited educational study of best practice in the field of Ophthalmology.

Section members:

GPs with a special interest, allied health professionals, e.g. screeners and ophthalmic nurses.

Section council:

Section meetings and conferences are usually organised by members of the Section council, led by the Section President.

Whilst pivotal trials provide an evidence base for the management of diabetic retinopathy complications, they are limited by an artificial end point that is much shorter than the actual natural history duration. In this session we will  present our ‘real world’ experience of managing this chronic condition and the long-term impact of diabetic retinopathy on our clinical practice
