Purpose:

To promote and provide accredited educational study of best practice in the field of Ophthalmology.

Section members:

GPs with a special interest, allied health professionals, e.g. screeners and ophthalmic nurses.

Section council:

Section meetings and conferences are usually organised by members of the Section council, led by the Section President.

To discuss the management of patients who have come to the end of standard treatment pathways and yet who want to explore more treatment to improve or save their sight. 

At the end of this meeting the participants will be able to:

  • Recognise serious ophthalmic conditions 
  • Know about new treatment options for complicated situations
  • Recognise when a patient genuinely has no further treatment options  

 

There will be four experienced consultants from the subspecialist areas of cornea, glaucoma, oculoplastics and retinal  who will talk about managing ophthalmic conditions that would not normally be considered to be suitable for further treatment.

The meeting is relevant to - ophthalmologists, optometrists and ophthalmic nurses.

30 bursary places are available (10 student, 10 trainee, 10 AHP) to apply please send your full name, job title/year of study and organisation/Institution to the co-ordinator at: ophthalmology@rsm.ac.uk
