As he prepares to stand down after more than seven years of leading NHS England, Sir Simon Stevens will join Professor Sir Simon Wessely for a conversation about his career, from his early years in the NHS, to the Covid-19 pandemic and the most testing period in NHS history. This webinar will explore the psychological qualities of people who take part in extreme sports and experiences, and what can be learned from this state of mind. Speakers will include ultra-marathon runner Nikki Kimball and Dr Stig Severinsen, former freediving world champion and the holder of multiple Guinness World Records.

Wednesday 14 July: 2.00pm to 3.30pm

The NHS relies on unpaid carers, both in supporting patients and in its own workforce. However, the needs of unpaid carers can be overlooked or taken for granted. This webinar will explore how to support members of staff working within the NHS who are also carers, and how carer-friendly practice can improve staff retention and patient outcomes.
