Speaker's biography
Professor Saroj Das received higher surgical training in Nottingham, Kings College Hospital and at the Royal Brampton Hospital. He received training in endovascular surgery at the Arizona Heart Institute, Phoenix, USA. He was appointed as a senior Lecturer, Consultant Surgeon at the Royal Brampton Hospital and Thrombosis Research Institute. He was awarded a Chair at the Brunel University in 2009 through his research collaboration in carotid diseases, development of endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) devices and research into venous diseases.
Professor Saroj Das has published several original papers, has contributed chapters in textbooks and has edited a textbook on deep vein thrombosis. He is a regular reviewer for National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) research projects.
He is the Course Director for many national and International meetings. He was the Regional Director for London and a member of the Court of Examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons of England . He is also an examiner for the Year 3 Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and Final Year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the Imperial Medical School.
