Join us at this exciting meeting to hear from the medical leadership team, leading scientists as well as top athletes involved in the 2021 Olympic games. Speakers will explore their experience adapting for this year's unique Olympic games, and share their knowledge across the breadth of medical care provisions, the lessons learned and planning for the future.

Aims for this meeting include:

  • Explore the unique challenges to taking hundreds of athletes and staff across the world in a pandemic
  • Understand other physiological preparation and adaptation for travelling to and competing in Japan
  • Hear about plans for the future including the Winter Games in Beijing and next Summer Games in Paris

Topics include:

  • Precautions, successes and lived experiences from the medical team as well as the athletes
  • Novel doping methods and anti-doping techniques
  • Athlete health screening prior to competition, including respiratory health
  • Medical planning by game organisers
  • Common injuries in climbing - a new Olympic sport
  • Medical care provided to athletes at the games
