Speaker's biography
Mr Asif Muneer is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist based in Central London. He specialises in general urological conditions, diagnostic urology services and has a specialist interest in male infertility and vasectomy reversal, erectile dysfunction, genital oncology and oncoplastic reconstruction. He also provides a men's health service and corrective surgery for Peyronies disease.
Having completed his higher surgical training in Oxford, he undertook further visiting fellowships to the University of Bern, University of Paris as well as completing a Senior Fellowship at University College London Hospital. He has received a number of awards including a British Urological Foundation award, Ethicon fellowship, Ralph Shackman fellowship and Royal Society of Medicine award. He was also awarded the Keith Yeates Gold Medal for the FRCS(Urol) intercollegiate examination.
Mr Muneer has published widely on all aspects of urology with over 100 peer-reviewed publications. He has co-edited ten books: Viva Practice for the FRCS(Urol), Textbook of Penile Cancer, Atlas of Male Genitourethral Surgery, Prosthetic Surgery in Urology, and more; he has written a number of book chapters. As well as lecturing to trainee surgeons, Mr Muneer lectures throughout the UK and is involved in teaching at the Institute of Urology Masterclass and the Royal College of Surgeons Core Surgical Skills Course. He regularly reviews for a number of Urology publications and is an assistant editor for a quarterly urology journal.
