In this webinar, President-Elect Professor Roger Kirby will be joined by two expert clinicians to discuss the pathophysiological impacts of COVID-19 on severely ill patients.

Dr Alison Pittard, consultant in anaesthesia and Dean of the Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine and Professor Aine Burns, consultant nephrologist and director of postgraduate medical education at the Royal Free Hospital in London, will be answering questions on the management of COVID-19 positive patients in intensive care; especially the use of ventilation and renal replacement strategies.

Speaker's biography

Professor Aine Burns is a consultant nephrologist with special interest in chronic kidney disease in the elderly, conservative management of end-stage kidney disease, end-of-life issues in medicine and autoimmune conditions such as vasculitis. She is Director of post-graduate medical education at the Royal London Free Hospital in London and an elected member of Council at the Royal College of Physicians.
