The utilisation of ultrasound in pleural procedures has revolutionised the safety and accessibility of pleural interventions on a global scale. Today, it is imperative that ultrasound be incorporated, whether directly or indirectly, into every pleural intervention. However, since the coronavirus pandemic (and to a lesser extent before), it has been virtually impossible to find a focused pleural ultrasound course. The number of respiratory registrars in 2020 reached 375 and continues to increase annually, all of whom require endorsement from a pleural ultrasound course for training completion and need sign-off for a pleural ultrasound course to complete their training.
Join us for this in-person course to learn how to use ultrasound to effectively recognise pleural disease, ensure it is used safely and improve healthcare outcomes. Participants will leave feeling more able to perform pleural ultrasound in their own practice by training with both real pathology cases as well as healthy volunteers, helping to gain confidence and adding them to their log books.
Participants will be able to:
- Acquire the required skills to effectively utilise pleural ultrasound
- Improve the use of pleural ultrasound in healthcare settings to enable high-quality patient care
- To train in the use of ultrasound to recognise pleural disease
