Join this informative webinar, part of the Mind Matters Series to hear Professor David Veale, a consultant psychiatrist and a visiting Professor in cognitive behavioural therapy at King’s College London, with an international reputation for research on the nature and treatment of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD). He leads a national specialist outpatient and residential unit service for people with severe treatment refractory OCD and BDD at the South London and Maudsley Trust and The Nightingale Hospitals. Professor David is well known for his training and teaching on this topic.

The evening will include discussions about body image in general as well as the evidence base for treating BDD, the effectiveness of interventions and the comorbidity with other mental health conditions. Professor David will be in conversation with his long-time collaborator and colleague, Professor Kevin Gournay, both of whom were beneficiaries of clinical and training experiences with Professor Isaac Marks at the Maudsley Hospital and Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, Kings College, London.

Within an informal conversation, the aims of this webinar will be to provide an overview of Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), the effectiveness of interventions and the comorbidity of BDD with other mental health conditions; all in the context of body image in today’s society.
