Register here to join our In Conversation Live with Sir Michael Palin

Sir Michael Palin will be joining Professor Roger Kirby to discuss his incredible television career spanning over 50 years. From Monty Python to travel documentaries, Sir Michael is a very talented actor, comedian, writer, TV presenter, composer, Sheffield legend and a true national treasure whose work has entertained generations and stood the test of time.

Instead of charging for this webinar we are asking people to support the Royal Society of Medicine in these unprecedented times. Now more than ever, we need your help to continue our work. Please consider making a donation for watching this webinar. Thank you for your generosity.

Although you may know Sir Michael from his portrayal of various characters in the comedic Monty Python series (active since 1969), he has done much more in the years since. Starting in 1989 Sir Michael began a new career as a travel writer and travel documentarian. His journeys have taken him across the world, including the North and South Poles (1992), Asia, Oceania and the Americas (1997), United States, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean (1999), the Sahara Desert (2002), the Himalayas (2004), Central and Eastern Europe (2007), Brazil (2012), and North Korea (2018).

Sir Michael is very involved in charity work and was instrumental in setting up The Michael Palin Centre for Stammering Children in 1993, an official Patron of Freedom from Torture and a supporter of Book Aid International.
