Join this LSP study day to enhance your knowledge and understanding on common allergic conditions encountered by Paediatric trainees both in acute and outpatient setting. We will be covering a wide variety of allergy topics that a general paediatrician may encounter in their clinical practice.

By attending, you will:

  • Have increased confidence in taking a comprehensive allergy history and understanding the role of investigative tests in supporting a diagnosis   
  • Understand the role of dieticians in food allergy, dietary alternatives in food allergies including milk substitutes and the milk ladder for reintroduction of mild- moderate cow’s milk protein allergy
  • Be able to recognise and manage anaphylaxis in children and understand the pathophysiology of this life-threatening reaction
  • Understand and appreciate the spectrum of allergic disease including atopic dermatitis, GI allergy and allergic rhinosinusitis
  • Know how to effectively communicate and support patients and their families with allergic disease  
  • Appreciate how research is contributing to current clinical practice and the way it may shape the future of the field of paediatric allergy  
  • Understand the trainee pathway for Paediatric Allergy GRID and SPIN
