About this event

  • Date and time Tue 8 Oct 2019 from 8:45am to 4:30pm
  • Location Royal Society of Medicine
  • Organised by Paediatrics and Child Health, Odontology

This unique and multi-specialist event will look at and teach paediatricians how to be vigilant and confident when diagnosing masked and irrelevant signs and symptoms of illness or disease.

Learn from specialists which children with symptoms need to be seen earlier and how to deal with health issues such as visual problems and poor dental hygiene. Explore unusual paediatric presentations that do not have a clear pathway to diagnosis and need multidisciplinary management.

This is a joint event with the Odontology Section and therefore the programme will highlight key areas such as tooth decay in children and acute dental problems.

Topics include:

  • How to identify key pointers to diagnosis
  • Current best practice
  • How to manage unusual paediatric presentations
  • The value of effective communication between specialities
