Gain awareness of the common causes of failure of knee replacement, both aseptic and septic and understand the role of imaging and microbiological techniques in diagnosing the cause of failure.
Understand the determinants of good outcomes of revision replacement including surgical approach, component removal, reconstruction of the joint line and posterior condylar offset and the use of offset stems, as well as choosing the appropriate level of constraint.
Improved awareness of best practise to minimise infection after knee replacement as well as the role of a multidisciplinary approach in managing established infection.
