The RSM is one of the oldest medical education establishments in the country, the Presidential address by Mr Michael Jeo-Ming Kuo will reflect on the history of the establishment, the 2021/2022 upcoming academic programme, and the parallel developments in laryngology and rhinology and its relevance to the 21st century ENT surgeon.

The Semon lecture will see Kevin Harrington, Professor of biological cancer therapies, Royal Marsden Hospital and ICR, UK, explore the non-surgical biological therapies applicable to the treatment of head and neck cancer. John Hunter famously said, ” The last part of surgery, namely operations, is a reflection on the healing art; it is a tacit acknowledgement of the insufficiency of surgery.”

Topics of the event include:

  • The history of the RSM and the programme of events for the 2021/2022 academic year
  • The range of non-surgical treatments available for head and neck cancer
