Will the current guidelines affect the prognosis or prove that some patients had unnecessary thyroid surgery in the past?

This afternoon meeting will review current best practice in thyroid surgery.

Topics include:
  • Options for treatment of low risk thyroid cancer
  • Impact of thyroid disease on the airway
  • How surgeons are affected by BAETS guidelines
Mr Guri Sandhu is presenting his experience in the management of advanced thyroid cancers involving the trachea and airway. The 2014 BTA (British Thyroid Association) guidelines have revised views on low risk thyroid cancers, and Mr Jeremy Davis will highlight the diagnostic and therapeutic changes and possible affects on the outcomes.
