Join the History of Medicine Society in York for a two-day visit to a city with a long history supported by museums and attractions. The city gives easy access to the rest of Yorkshire with its wide variety of countryside and historic sites.
We'll be joined by a number of interesting speakers, the majority of whom will be speaking at the York Medical Society. Find a comprehensive list of the speakers and their topics in our full programme below.
Travel
York has good road and rail links from all parts of the UK. The cost of a senior advance standard return from London is approx £50 with a travel time of around 2 hours First class return about £80.00. The taxi journey from the rail station to the Doubletree Hotel take 15 mins. For those energetic members the walk 30 mins
No on-site parking at the hotel, public car parks are 2 minutes’ walk at a cost £6 for 24 hours. York is a compact historic district and all the venues for the meeting are less than 20 minutes’ walk from the Doubletree
A buffet lunch will be held (included in the meeting fee). Delegates are responsible for all accommodation costs.
