Join us for this event that will illustrate the impact of domestic abuse and the forensic response to it. It will also discuss the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to solving domestic abuse cases in forensics featuring a real case of a fatality associated with domestic abuse, the input from forensic odontologists and veterinary surgeons and speakers from third sector organizations involved in this work.

Key speakers will cover the clinical aspects of the child's presentation, assessment, clinical care and safeguarding the child, along with aspects of the police investigation and evidence gathering. It will also cover the case building, charging decision and prosecution.

During this session, you will learn about:

  • The forensic responses to domestic abuse
  • Learn the acute presentation and care of a child following FGM whilst safeguarding the child
  • Understand the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach to the investigation, case-building and prosecution
  • Learn the role of forensic odontologists, coroners and third-sector organisations that provide help and assistance

A CPD certificate with CPD credit will be issued to those joining the webinar live as well as those who watch the recording afterwards. Certificates will be issued 7 days after the webinar to those who watch it live and after 30 days for those that watch the recording.
