Watch the pre-recorded webinar of General Day 8 for an overview of the Cardiology teaching syllabus relating to leadership and understanding of culture and characteristics of processing as a consultant in the NHS.

This training day focuses on how to survive as a consultant in the NHS today and identifying effective leadership strategies for yourself. We will explore how to maximise opportunities through appraisal, find solutions to day-to-day challenges, define the nature and purpose of leadership, effective team working — leadership and team dynamics, understand the culture of your trust, engage effectively with others, and lead and manage organisational change. You will also learn about NHS structure management and finances, patient safety and governance essential for running a service, undertaking projects in service improvement and more.

By attending this meeting, you will learn:

  • What leadership means in the context of the NHS and what leadership roles entail throughout a career in cardiology 
  • NHS structure management and finances 
  • Patient safety and governance essentials for running a service
