An event designed to introduce core cardiology trainees to inherited cardiac conditions. We will cover key curriculum topics and provide an overview of other areas not often covered elsewhere such as genetics and training in ICC.

Join pre-recorded version of the second General day focused on congenital heart disease by reviewing basic principles of patient assessment, imaging and lifestyle concerns, and give an introduction to emergency care management.

Participants will learn about:

  • The epidemiology, natural history, presenting features, examination findings, appropriate investigations, management and referral to specialist services of simple congenital heart defects
  • Understand the physiology and anatomy of congenital heart problems including ASD, VSD, AVSD, coarctation, congenital aortic valve, and LV outflow tract disease, pulmonary stenosis, PDA, anomalous pulmonary venous drainage and transposition of the great artery
  • Know about the range of operations which are done for cardiac surgical interventions and understand the sequelae in adult life
  • Know about the evidence underpinning appropriate investigations, acute management of complications, and referral to specialist services for complex congenital heart defects

This is a pre-recorded webinar that will be available seven days after the live in-person event on Wednesday 18 January 2023, taking place at the RSM in London. You will be able to view the webinar whenever you like, up to 60 days from when it’s made available.
