We are celebrating 10 years of the WHO Safer Surgery Checklist in the NHS!

This meeting features the history of the checklist, compares and contrasts successes (and  failures) around the world, the role of checklists in patient safety education and training, and looks at checklist challenges in a range of clinical settings around the world. 

The meeting will conclude with a keynote presentation by Professor the Lord Darzi of Denham, considering checklists of the future.

Topics include: 

  • Review the development of the WHO safe surgery checklist  
  • Learn from success in LMICs in introducing Checklists 
  • Understand the role of checklists in education and training for patient safety 
  • Identify successes and challenges in the use of checklists 
  • The role of nurses in patient safety checklists
