Professor Luxon is Chair of Audiovestibular Medicine at the University of London, based at University College London.

Training in medicine and neurology at St Thomas’ Hospital, the Middlesex Hospital and Queen Square, Professor Linda Luxon went on to undertake a fellowship at UCLA and was appointed Consultant Physician in neuro-otology at the National Hospital.

Her research interests include the diagnosis and management of both peripheral and central auditory and vestibular disorders in adults and children.

She has been Chairman and President of several national and international professional bodies, served on international journal boards, and was the founding editor of the Journal of Audiological Medicine as well as the editor of the award-winning Textbook of Audiological Medicine. She also serves as a Trustee of three medical charities, and was previously Treasurer at the Royal College of Physicians.

In 2010, Linda was awarded a CBE for services to Medicine.
