Dr Shinde is a consultant anaesthetist at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, specialising in orthoplastics, neurosurgery and coiling/stroke thrombectomy. She is a director of Laxmibai & Rajaram Shinde Trust, a charity established to support education in India.
