Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine maintains world ranking

The 2023 release of Journal Citation Reports (JCR), a global evaluation of leading journals, confirms the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine continues to rank highly among the world’s medical journals.

With an impact factor of 17.3, JRSM has maintained its ranking of 11 out of the world’s 167 general medical journals.

Commenting on the 2023 JCR release, Editor in Chief Professor Kamran Abbasi said: "It’s good to see JRSM maintain its high ranking in general medical journals. This is quite an achievement for JRSM and a testament to the support we receive from authors, reviewers, readers, and the Royal Society of Medicine.

"We aspire for best practice in medical publishing to cater for a multispecialty readership, and it’s good to see the journal's progress being maintained."

Michele Acton, Chief Executive of the Royal Society of Medicine, said: “This is superb news for JRSM which, together with its companion journal JRSM Open, are fundamental to our educational offering for RSM members and other healthcare professionals. Our congratulations go to Professor Abbasi and his team for effectively cementing JRSM’s impact within the world of medical journal publishing.”
