Can anyone use the RSM Library?
The Library is for RSM members and Library pass holders only. To access the Library, members need to touch in with their membership card at the Library gates.
If you are not a member and would like to access the Library, you can purchase a Library pass.
Is 24/7 access to the Library still available?
The Library is no longer available 24/7. Please see our opening times below.
Monday to Thursday: 9:30am to 6:00pm
Friday: 9:30am to 5.30pm
How do I access the Library’s online resources?
E-resources are only accessible as part of a membership subscription. To access the e-resources, simply login to the website and go to the e-resources page where you can find links to all our e-resources including e-books, e-journals and databases.
As a non-member you can search our Library catalogue using the search bar on the e-resources page. However, links to full-text articles and documents are not available to view to non-members.

I need to pay a Library fine. How do I do this?
You can pay your fine in person at the Library help desk; you can view the opening times here.
Alternatively, you can pay by phone by calling the Library on 0207 290 2940/2941, or you can contact us by emailing with the details, and a member of staff will get in contact with you to arrange the payment.
Can I request items from the Library if I am not an RSM member?
We only loan items to RSM members. If you are a non-member and would like access to an item, you can request copies of articles through our document delivery service.
If you are affiliated with another Library then you can ask that library to apply for the item as an inter-library loan.
Does the Library acquire new books and journals?
Yes, the Library adds new medical books and journals to the collection each year across all specialty areas.
Members are invited to make suggestions for books. Please email the Collection Development team at email@example.com.
Can I donate books to the Library collection?
Although we welcome suitable donations, we are unable to accept everything due to space limitations. If you wish to donate an item, please contact our Collection Development team with details about the items you wish to donate by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Can I arrange a guided tour of the Library?
The RSM offers free guided tours of the Library to members and the public, which cover an introduction to the Library and its history, an opportunity to view the archives and its rare materials and information about the services the Library provide. The Library also provides personal inductions to the Library, which can be tailored to your requirements.
