Join the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) Urology Section for this one-day meeting exploring trauma, emergency urology and the evolving landscape of urgent urological care. Bringing together leading specialists in urology, trauma surgery, interventional radiology and service transformation, the programme will examine the practical challenges of managing acute and high-pressure clinical situations across emergency and on-call settings.
Being on call and managing emergency presentations can be one of the most demanding aspects of urological practice, particularly when rapid decision-making is required with limited support available. From traumatic injuries and battlefield medicine to haematuria, priapism and penile fracture, clinicians are increasingly expected to manage complex emergencies safely and efficiently across a range of healthcare settings.
This meeting addresses those challenges through a practical and multidisciplinary programme focused on real-world emergency care. Alongside updates on urological trauma and acute management, the meeting will explore how urgent and emergency urology services are changing through GIRFT recommendations, same-day emergency care (SDEC) pathways and evolving workforce models.
The programme features expert-led presentations, multidisciplinary discussions and interactive case-based learning, including sessions from internationally renowned trauma surgeon Professor David Nott OBE and Charlotte Aston, Director of the GIRFT Urgent and Emergency Care National Team. Delegates will also have the opportunity to network with colleagues throughout the day and attend the President’s Address and drinks reception. An optional dinner will follow the meeting.
