About this event

  • Date and time Fri 13 Oct 2023 from 8:30am to 13 Oct 2023 at 7:00pm
  • Location Royal Society of Medicine
  • Organised by Urology

Paediatric urology forms part of the workload of many general urology departments but is relevant to all urologists as the patient transitions through adolescence into the adult urology clinic. However, it can be daunting to those who do not have a special interest and in particular for trainees who may have minimal exposure. Paediatric urology forms, quite rightly, a significant part of the required study for the FRCS (Urol) examination.

This meeting will focus on paediatric urological conditions and patients from antenatal diagnosis through the immediate post-delivery period and onto later management. We will discuss the urological conditions commonly seen in general and specialist clinics as well as the more complex urogenital abnormalities.

Join us in the evening for the Presidential address followed by a dinner at the Royal Society of Medicine. Dress code: Lounge suits.

This meeting will be presented by a multidisciplinary team, reflecting how these patients are managed.

The aim of this meeting is to cover aspects of paediatric urology relevant to the general urologist, the registrar in training, urological nurses (paediatric, adolescent and adult) as well as updating those with a particular interest in paediatric urology.

By attending this meeting, you will

  • Understand how to assess urinary symptoms in the paediatric population
  • Gain an overview of the common urogenital malformations
  • Build your understanding on the common urological conditions which are diagnosed in the antenatal period, their relevance and management
