This meeting is relevant to a broad audience of healthcare professionals; psychiatrists, palliative medicine and geriatric physicians, GPs and also allied health professionals whose work concerns the care of patients with life limiting illness.  It will provide a forum to explore advances in the management of patients approaching the end of life from a range of professional, philosophical and legal perspectives.

The eminent speakers include:

  • Professor Harvey Chochinov, Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Manitoba and Director of the Manitoba Palliative Care Research Unit, CancerCare Manitoba
  • Professor Matthew Hotopf, Professor of General Hospital Psychiatry King’s College London, Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist to St Christopher’s Hospice
  • Mr Niall Fry, Policy Lead at Department of Health for Mental Capacity Act
