Speaker's biography

Ruth Waters is President Elect of British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and is a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust. She qualified from Southampton University Medical School and trained in plastic surgery in Norwich and the West Midlands. Her main specialist interest is in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast as well as skin oncology and trauma. Her research interests include vascularised lymph node for the treatment of lymphoedema.

Speaker's biography

Mr Gary Ross is a Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon in the North West of England and is a fully accredited plastic surgeon on the General Medical Council’s specialist register for plastic surgery. Mr Ross’s practice is based at BMI The Alexandra Hospital, Cheshire and is an honorary senior clinical lecturer at The University of Manchester. Mr Ross is a member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS); British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS); American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and Association of Breast Surgeons (ABS). Mr Ross provides an individualised approach to each of his patients. All patients are fully informed of the pros, cons and risks of surgery and a detailed consenting process is undertaken to ensure patients are fully informed. Mr Ross aims to provide the best outcomes for patients and is actively involved in strategies to improve patient related outcomes measures.
