  • Location Royal Society of Medicine
  • Organised by Nephrology

Join the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) Nephrology Section for this dedicated renal-haematology summit exploring the complex interactions between blood disorders and kidney disease. Bringing together leading clinicians, researchers and specialists from both fields, this one-day meeting will examine the latest evidence, practical challenges and collaborative approaches shaping haemato-renal care.

As more patients present with conditions spanning both specialities, there is an increasing need for joined-up thinking and cross-disciplinary expertise. Advances in diagnostics, therapeutics and precision medicine are rapidly changing how haemato-renal conditions are understood and managed, yet many clinicians report limited opportunities for joint learning and uncertainty around real-world decision-making. This summit addresses that gap through expert-led sessions exploring the bidirectional relationship between haematological and renal disease, with learning designed to support immediate application in clinical practice.

Through case studies, best practice presentations and collaborative discussions, delegates will explore diagnostic challenges, treatment advances and unmet clinical needs across haemato-renal care. The programme concludes with a drinks reception, providing opportunities for networking and future collaboration across specialities.

Why attend?

  • Hear from leading experts in nephrology, haematology, oncology and pathology
  • Explore the complex relationship between blood disorders and kidney disease through an interdisciplinary programme
  • Gain updates on monoclonal gammopathies, multiple myeloma, amyloidosis and emerging oncological therapies
  • Apply practical approaches to managing haemato-renal complications through case-based discussions and real-world examples
  • Network with like-minded colleagues and speakers during the drinks reception following the meeting

Aims of the event

  • Provide an up-to-date overview of diseases at the intersection of haematology and renal care
  • Explore diagnostic approaches, treatment advances and emerging evidence in haemato-renal disease
  • Support collaboration across specialities to improve patient outcomes and quality of care

Learning outcomes
By attending this summit, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the pathophysiology of paraproteinaemias and associated renal injury across different disease entities
  • Evaluate the diagnosis and management of multiple myeloma, amyloidosis and associated renal disease
  • Evaluate current and emerging treatments for haemato-renal conditions
  • Apply learning to improve the management of complex patients with overlapping haematological and renal conditions

Who should attend?
This event is suitable for:

  • Nephrologists and renal specialists
  • Haematologists and oncology specialists
  • Consultants, GPs and SAS doctors
  • Resident doctors, trainees and students
  • Advanced nurse practitioners and specialist pharmacists
