- Organised by Medicine and Me, Breast Cancer Now
Join the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) for this half-day event exploring modern breast cancer care, from the rise of misinformation online to managing menopausal symptoms after treatment and the latest innovations in patient follow-up. Through expert-led discussions, Q&A sessions and lived experience perspectives, this event will examine new insights into breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and care, while exploring how patients can be better supported during and after treatment in a digital age.
Breast cancer care is evolving rapidly, with growing discussion around misinformation, myths, digital health and follow-up care. As social media and AI-generated content increasingly influence how patients access health information, many patients navigating diagnosis, treatment and recovery are being exposed to harmful or inaccurate health guidance. At the same time, many people living beyond treatment face significant long-term effects, including menopausal symptoms that can affect quality of life. This programme brings together clinical expertise and lived experience to address both challenges head on through a holistic approach. This event is delivered in collaboration with Breast Cancer Now, whose strategy Change Happens Now sets out a vision that by 2050, everyone with breast cancer will live — and live well.
