This conference will review the neurodevelopmental disorders linked to prenatal alcohol exposure (NDPAE), formally know as fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDS).

Leading experts will inform doctors, psychologists, mental health workers and educators on the clinical disorders of NDPAE, and the opportunities for recognition, prevention and management.

  • The history and evolution of understanding about NDPAE
  • The genetic and epigenetic underpinning of alcohol teratology
  • Critical clinical dimensions of NDPAE  and implications for management and advocacy
  • The social and long term consequences to both  the birth mother and child affected by NDPAE
