About this event

  • Date and time Tue 24 Nov 2026 from 9:30am to 4:45pm
  • Location Royal Society of Medicine
  • Organised by Endocrinology and Diabetes

Join the Royal Society of Medicine Endocrinology and Diabetes Section for this obesity pharmacotherapy masterclass, a dedicated full-day event exploring the latest advances in the medical management of obesity and the rapidly evolving role of GLP-1-based treatments. Bringing together leading experts in obesity, endocrinology and cardiometabolic medicine, the programme combines the latest science with practical discussion to support evidence-based obesity care.

Obesity pharmacotherapy is transforming clinical practice, yet the pace of development means many healthcare professionals face challenges keeping up with emerging evidence and translating clinical trial findings into day-to-day care. This masterclass addresses that gap through expert-led sessions covering the science underpinning obesity treatments, efficacy and safety evidence, broader health outcomes, future therapies, and practical implementation within multidisciplinary clinical services.

This full-day masterclass is structured to bridge science and practice, with the morning session dedicated to the latest evidence in obesity pharmacotherapy and the afternoon focused on practical implementation in clinical care. Delegates will hear from experts on the evolving science of obesity, current and future treatments, and broader health outcomes, before moving into an interactive session exploring patient pathways, multidisciplinary support, service delivery and real-world clinical challenges. Dedicated breaks throughout the day will provide opportunities for discussion and networking with colleagues and speakers.
