About this event

  • Date and time Thu 2 Jul 2026 from 9:00am to 4:00pm
  • Location Royal Society of Medicine
  • Organised by Endocrinology and Diabetes, Society for Endocrinology, The Association of British Clinical Diabetologists

Join us for our annual clinical cases meeting for the Endocrinology & Diabetes Section - an interactive full-day event encouraging expert discussions for a broad range of clinical case presentations in endocrinology and diabetes, led specifically by the trainees, students and juniors who submitted exceptional extracts.

Current national meetings don't typically focus on case based discussions for both endocrinology and diabetes and there is an appetite for a honest clinical conversation, as well as a forum for less senior trainees to present cases. This year’s meeting is designed to place trainees and medical students at the forefront, giving them the opportunity to lead the presentation of interesting cases and to drive knowledge-sharing discussions, while senior colleagues in the field listen, challenge assumptions, and provide reflective insights as audience members.

This event is usually held as a half-day event but this year, we have dedicated a full-day to the clinical cases with half of the day being devoted to endocrinology cases and half to diabetes cases. There will be a total of six selected cases being presented in each half with the remainder of the accepted abstracts being presented as posters. The coffee and lunch breaks throughout the day will allow attendees to engage in discussion with colleagues around each poster case displayed.

Why attend?

  • Invaluable opportunity to present, discuss or challenge clinical cases with an audience of experienced individuals in the field.
  • Rare to find full-day events encompassing both endocrinology and diabetes cases, offering a unique opportunity to broaden clinical exposure and to potentially explore the interface between the two specialties.
  • Knowledge share with senior colleagues, allowing for deeper clinical reflection, critical discussion and the chance to gain expert insights.
  • A joint meeting for both endocrinology and diabetes that is focused solely on case based clinical care for trainees is a unique and rewarding opportunity to consider.
  • Prizes will be awarded for the best oral presentation, poster presentation and student presentation in both endocrinology and diabetes. Make your submission today.

Learning outcomes:

  • Gain a deeper specialist understanding of the investigation and management of complex cases, including the distinctive and often rare conditions encountered within the field.
  • Learn from other case presentations that may discuss important updates in aetiology, genetics, imaging and treatment options and integrate findings into your own practice.
  • Explore the tricky aspects of new aetiological understanding and management.
  • Strengthen clinical presentation skills through oral case-based delivery, poster displays and discussion.
