How to leave your legacy

Setting up a legacy gift is easy to arrange with your solicitor. They will also advise you about the inheritance tax implications for your estate.

You can choose to leave a proportion of your estate, a specific financial sum or a gift which has a particular financial value.

If you are an RSM member, you can speak to qualified lawyers for free, who will answer your queries regarding any professional or personal issue. If you require any legal work, such as drafting or updating a Will, they will carry this out for you at a discounted rate. Visit the Offers and Discounts page to find out more.

Leaving a legacy gift to the Royal Society of Medicine is a great way to celebrate our past and support our future vision.  If you are interested in supporting us, please do get in touch to talk to us in confidence about any aspect of legacy giving. We’d be happy to help.

Why pledge a gift in your will

Over the years, our mission to advance health through education and innovation has been enriched by brilliant minds; the likes of Edward Jenner and Sir Alexander Fleming, whose visionary work has saved millions of lives.

Today, we count some of the world’s most distinguished doctors, dentists, veterinarians, nurses, midwives and other healthcare professionals among our members, delegates, and speakers – including many eminent prize-winners. We are also a hub for emerging talent; the people who will go on to transform the future of medicine and healthcare.

Now we have an opportunity to share our extraordinary knowledge base through in-person meetings as well as all the potential of digital technology to radically expand and improve healthcare education – and with it, the health of our children and grandchildren.

You can help ensure our future is full of promise.
