This webinar will discuss and explore what we know about Charles Bonnet Syndrome, which causes a person with failing eyesight to see things that aren’t real. These hallucinations may be simple patterns, or detailed images of events, people or places, and can be nice or terrifying.

Sir Terence English KBE FRCS FRCP, highly respected cardiothoracic surgeon, will join Professor Roger Kirby, RSM President, for a conversation about his medical career, his charity work and how he helped pave the way for heart and lung transplantations in the UK and Europe.

The health system impact of the post-Soviet economic crisis in Russia; hysteria, head injuries and heredity – these are the two topics to be presented by medical students competing for the RSM Norah Schuster history of medicine prize. The presentations will be followed by a lecture on how biosciences have influenced medical history.
