Speaker's biography

Professor Ameet Patel is a renowned, experienced HPB, Upper GI and bariatric surgeon. He has a specialist interest in minimal access surgery and is keen to take this to a new level. He has developed laparoscopic techniques in treating both malignant and benign disease of the liver, pancreas and biliary system. He has performed the first laparoscopic right hepatectomy, and 'single incision' laparoscopic liver resection in the UK. As a expert in his field, Professor Patel has performed live link surgery for a number of national and international medical conferences, demonstrating laparoscopic complex bariatric surgery, liver resections and laparoscopic pancreatic surgery.
