About this event

  • Date and time Wed 21 Sep 2022 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm
  • Location Online
  • Organised by Occupational Medicine

The Ramazzini prize webinar will provide a forum for discussion around fitness to work in a range of safety-critical roles or environments, for example construction, rail and aviation, healthcare and transport. We will also consider the ethics and implications behind how medical conditions and disabilities affect fitness to work.

By reflecting on real-life clinical cases managed directly by trainees themselves, our panel will discuss and summarise key learnings to improve risk assessment, communication with employers/employees and the overall safety of workers.

Participants will be able to:

  • Identify and apply relevant safety legislation
  • Perform risk assessments concerning the individual, work tasks and working environment
  • Provide advice and recommendations across all sectors involving safety-critical workers
  • Produce effective reports to improve communication between practitioners and key stakeholders
  • Understand and apply Residual Functional Capacity
  • Discuss ethical implications of decisions around fitness for safety-critical work in the context of disability legislation

During this meeting, we will also present the Ramazzini prize.

This is a joint meeting with the Society of Occupational Medicine.

This webinar is available for on-demand viewing. The webinar recording will be available for registered event participants up to 60 days after the live webinar broadcast via Zoom. The link will be sent 24 hours after the webinar takes place.
