Discover and learn more about our historic Library collection by joining us for a free tour.

Taking place on the first Wednesday of each month, the tour includes an introduction to the home of the Royal Society of Medicine at 1 Wimpole Street and a guided tour of the Library. The tour concludes with an introduction to the RSM’s heritage, archive and rare book collections.

In this tour, you can take the opportunity to view one of the oldest works from our vaults, a printing of a Roman 1st Century medical treatise, Celsus’s De Medicina published in 1478. You’ll also get chance to view our current exhibition of rare and beautiful herbal illustrations from the 16th and 17th centuries.

The tours are free and last 30 minutes.
