About this event

  • Date and time Mon 4 Apr 2022 from 1:00pm to 5:35pm
  • Location Royal Society of Medicine
  • Organised by Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine, British Society of Clinical and Academic Hypnosis (BSCAH)

This event will help you learn stress and self-care techniques to support patients and healthcare professionals in the workplace. Aspects of the neuroscience of the mind can be applied to practical advantage. This event will include presentations that will provoke ideas and thoughts on how to manage your own and others' psychological health. Areas covered will include relationships, success factors, imposter syndrome and peace of mind.

Professor Katalin Varga, Head, Department Affective Psychology, Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary, and Professor Steve Peters, Consultant Psychiatrist and Undergraduate Dean, Sheffield Medical School, UK, will cover empirical evidence to support the use of hypnosis in this area and will focus on self-care, oxytocin-based management systems, and burnout.

These techniques and hypnosis, in general, does not require medication to be effective or have any side effects, leaving patients and healthcare professionals with techniques they can utilise at home, in the workplace and while travelling.

Can’t attend in person on the day? This event is available to watch on-demand for up to 60 days. Please register for the pre-recorded webinar here. The link to watch the webinar will be sent via email three days after the live in-person event on Thursday 7 April 2022 so that you can view it on-demand.

This event will cover:

  • How to support oxytocin-based stress management systems with hypnosis and/or suggestion
  • Evidence to support the use of hypnosis for the treatment and management of stress for busy healthcare professionals and patients
  • Specific hypnotic and behavioural techniques using self-hypnosis to reduce burnout.
