about this event

This full day paediatric study day will explore the latest management techniques in gastroenterology and hepatology.

The Royal Society of Medicine and the London School of Paediatrics hold monthly training days aimed primarily at ST4 and ST5 paediatric trainees, but accessible to a much wider audience. Carefully mapped to the RCPCH curriculum, and with lectures and interactive sessions delivered by experts within their fields, these days offer a valuable opportunity to cover topics that may be difficult to address within the hospital setting.

Leadership, management and education (LME) skills evening:

Leading change in the NHS

Leadership skills are essential for paediatricians to maximize productivity in the clinical setting, as well as drive systems improvement and innovation. Trainees at all levels must develop these attributes and understand the nature of organisational change in the NHS, in order to best serve our patients.

Dr Clare Lemer is a Consultant Paediatrician and Associate National Clinical Director for Children and Young People for NHS England. She has extensive experience in public health, health policy, operations management and quality improvement. She has worked on the development of clinical leadership programmes and co-authored two books on medical management.

Join us to hear her unique and inspiring journey, advice on how to develop these competencies and design your own innovative career. Paediatricians at all levels encouraged to attend.
