Trainees (Young Fellows)
All RSM Trainees are Trainee doctors within 10 years of graduating and cover all specialties. They range from FY1 House Officers to the occasional consultant and welcome vets and dentists in training as well.
The Trainees organise meetings on generic topics for trainee doctors, such as teaching medical students, interview skills and how to get published, but also liaise with the Sections in organising specific speciality training meetings.

Trainees Committee
The Trainees Committee was formed in 1997 by members of the Academic Board.
The Trainees' Committee has two main aims:
- to represent RSM Trainees both within and outside of the structure of the Society
- to advise the RSM about the needs and interests of doctors and surgeons in training.
The Trainees Committee has organised many of the training courses currently run, this includes MRCP part 1, communication skills, core skills in critical care, teaching skills for doctors, radiology for doctors and many more. They constantly develop new meetings and courses. This also includes an extensive revision series for medical students, including the extremely popular practical OSCE days.
Are you interested in becoming a representative for the Trainees Committee? Are you interested in running a meeting for students or trainees at the RSM? Or are you interested in teaching at any of the course and meetings we run? Apply now. Please read all documents before applying.
Nominations take place twice a year. Nominations received will be reviewed at the following two dates:
