The London Blitz was at its height between 7 September 1940 and 11 May 1941. During these months in London 1,400,000 people were made homeless and just over 20,000 people were killed. Shown here is the RSM Library Accessions Register for part of that period. The book on the psychology of fear and courage added to stock on 10 October 1940 must have had some resonance for all who lived and worked in London at that time.
These and other similar items can be seen in the current library exhibition, The Library of the Royal Society of Medicine: An Historical Miscellany which is open to the public and runs until 21 April 2011.
