Domus Medica

Domus Medica has been totally refurbished:

• new decor and bathrooms
• flat screen tvs with access to freeview channels and digital radio
• new Hypnos beds with duvets
• improved lighting with desk for in-room work or study
• wifi in all bedrooms
• new climate control units for improved temperature control throughout the year
• 4 new bedrooms including 2 that are accessible by disabled guests

DDA Compliant bedrooms

There are two accessible rooms and each room inter-connects with an adjacent bedroom so that a carer or nurse may sleep in direct proximity.

A primary factor in the design is to allow enough space to manoeuvre a large wheelchair around the room and the bathroom.

• Wardrobes with both High and low hanging rails
• High and low wash basins – two in number per bathroom
• Higher toilet seat level
• Shower rail is adjustable for shower head to be at appropriate height
• Grab bars in bathroom
• Extra hooks in bathroom
• 1 metre wide beds
• Safe and fridge at low level
• 1 room with a bath and an area to seat people before being placed in the bath
• 1 room with a shower wet room
• Contrast tiles for partially sighted people
