eHealth & Telemed 2011
Monday 28 - Tuesday 29 November 2011
Raising the standard – Improving care, cutting costs
The conference is designed to bring together the whole of the health related tele-services community from frontline workers to national decision makers to discuss all aspects of tele-services.
This year we are pleased to announce the introduction of two joint sessions with the Norwegian Centre for Integrated Care and Telemedicine and the Telecare Services Association.
Announcement on WSD results
We are disappointed that the WSD results will not be presented but we are delighted to have to opportunity to include an alternative programme on Tuesday afternoon. Professor Stanton Newton the Principal Investigator for the Whole System Demonstrator Project, has written the following message to explain why WSD results are unavailable:
The Department of Health will be announcing the WSD results shortly but the meeting at which this was due to happen will no longer be taking place prior to the conference. Therefore, the presentations due to be given by the Whole System Demonstrator Evaluation Team, will be cancelled.
Key Objectives
- Give concrete examples of care pathway transformation to show it is achievable
- Demonstrate potential for further transformation
- Engage clinicians
- Demonstrate improved financial outcomes for the whole system
- Reinforce the RSM's education role for new healthcare technologies
Boat Trip – Monday 28 November 2011
This year we have a new social event on Monday evening which will give a further opportunity for networking. We have hired a boat to take us on the Thames to give wonderful views of London at night while enjoying a two course meal accompanied by music. We will board the boat at Westminster Pier and you will be welcomed with a glass of sparkling Kir, after which we will cruise along the River Thames passing many of the famous London landmarks including Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral, Tate Modern, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, HMS Belfast, Tower of London and Tower Bridge. We will arrive back at Westminster at about 8.30 allowing you plenty of time to return to your hotel.
The cost of this trip has been heavily subsidised and costs £10. Places are still available and you should contact Gemma for further information or register your place online by following the registration links.
