Professor Gordon Wilcock will comment on the effectiveness of current treatments - and will look at some of the future strategies and clinical trials in the pipeline.

Alzheimer's, doctors and the law.
Professor Michael Gunn will look at some of the difficult legal issues that doctors come across in dealing with Alzheimer's patients. A doctor may be required to decide whether a patient still has the capacity to manage his/her own money and property. How can we test 'capacity to consent'?

Should people with dementia stop driving?
Dr Desmond O'Neill will discuss when it is safe for people with dementia to drive. He points out that the main risk factors for a car crash are "youth, testosterone, speed and alcohol" - is our image of older drivers too negative?
