Current Controlled Trials is a sister company of BioMed Central (http://www.biomedcentral.com/). It is a free resource which allows users to search for on-going randomised controlled trials worldwide. It also allows authors of such trials to share information and promotes the exchange of news relating to research. The site allows users to search across multiple trials registers, including the ISRCTN Register, Action Medical Research, the Medical Research Council, the Wellcome Trust and NIH ClinicalTrials.gov. The latest trials accepted for registration are listed on the homepage and older trials can be searched via the archive. The search function is unsophisticated but easy to use. It supports Boolean searching but complex queries may cause the system problems. Search tips are provided.
